THE ZERO-BASED PHONECARD

HOW THEY WORK

A zero-based long-distance calling card starts with a zero balance. This has two advantages. One is that they don't require "up-front" selling like retail cards (retail cards are available). They can be given away. The other is that the customer determines his or her own usage. The customer can pre-charge their card for any amount from $25 to $1000 in $25 increments. To pre-charge the card, the customer, using a touch-tone phone dials the toll-free number on the back and follows the automated voice prompts and with a valid major credit card, enters the pertinent information.

DISTRIBUTION

The cards can be distributed in many ways. They can be a thank-you gift for a donation. They can be placed in "take-one" displays in high traffic areas. They can be sent out to existing Mailing lists, preferably at same time as the scheduled newsletter. Use for special event promotions. Place door hangers (less effective). Remember to target those people who would be most likely to use the cards (your fund-raising will be more effective) these include Travelers, Conventioneers, College Students, and Business People.

COMMISSIONS

The commission rate is 15% (except special offer custom cards...see below). Commissions are based on the monthly pre-charge amount (the dollar amount that is charged during the calendar month). The service provider's computer using the control number (displayed on the lower right corner of the card) tracks this. The service provider then, in the middle of the second month following, sends a commissions check to the authorized agent; in this case GDG Associates and we immediately cut a check to the distributer.

CUSTOM CALLING CARDS

The cards normally distributed have a generic scene on the face. Custom imprinted cards are available. Almost any graphic, logo, design, photo can be printed on the cards. There is a minimum order of 1000 cards plus a one-time plate charge of $595. A benefit of using custom cards is the modifiable pre-call message that will be heard each time that the card is used.

REORDERS

To assist customer reorders, a sticker should be affixed to the front of the cards. We can provide a supply, if requested, imprinted with our toll-free number. We will email or fax the reorder information to a given contact, if they include the control number of the existing card.
